Insectopia Rainforest Exhibition & Research Center contains over 8.000 insect specimens from forest ecosystems throughout Costa Rica. This is a priceless biological collection that has been designated a Natural Heritage.

Insectopia manages an important database about the insect diversity of the Osa Peninsula and provides key information to better understand species and ecosystems, and the many conservation issues that threaten the immense biodiversity of the tropical rainforests.

Visitors will learn about the important role rainforests play in sustaining our planet. Insectopia’s immense collection and exhibit provide key information to address the many threats facing our remaining rainforests.

Insectopia is located on the southwest side of the Puerto Jiménez Airport, at the main building of Crocodile Bay Resort. Our facilities are open to the public to encourage admiration, appreciation, understanding, and scientific research about the southern pacific rainforest of Costa Rica.
